There are companies that will reach out to teams or individuals and offer training opportunities or offer to pay for sportsmen to get more training or acquire skills that will enable them to play better. Some have partnerships with certain colleges and pay them to train selected teams.

Sportsmen sometimes find themselves going through pressure and stress due to the competitiveness of the game and other personal issues. There are sponsors who come on board and run mentorship programmes for people in the sports department. The mentorship programs help the sportsmen navigate daily issues.
